Hi, I’m Kevin Downey. I have worked in the arts industry for over 20 years, in a career that spans theatre, film and television production right across the world. Beginning my career with a front-of-house position at the State Theatre in Sydney in 1996, I moved on to stage manage Riverdance – The Show across the globe and worked my way to my current position as Set Decorator in Film & TV. I also love to collaborate and design creative bespoke private events that always delivers a magical experience.

Hello my name is Ciara O’Donovan & I am excited to represent you all as secretary of IGSD 2024-2025.

Not an easy task…. following in the footsteps of the wonderfully organised human that is Justine Wright!! I can’t promise the same fountain pen skills.

My background is in media arts & a dalliance with sculpture from NCAD (I intend to return to art school when I retire from Film). #lifegoals

I have worked in the decoration industry for festivals, commercials, music tours & private events and I love a nixer if I’m not booked on a film job.

I also love sharing good recommendations with people so I hope I can contribute more to the social life of the IGSD as well as my penmanship skills as your secretary.

Hi, my name is Emma Collins – I am your new Treasurer for 2024/2025. It’s my absolute honour and pleasure to be on the committee this year.

A little bit about me – I have a background in Television, Music Festivals, Corporate & Media Event management along with a bachelors in ‘Interior Architecture’. My credits in the film industry include Disenchanted, Valhalla, Marlowe, Netflix & Hallmark productions.

My name is Vishakha Agrawal and it’s an honour to be your SGI representative on the IGSD committee this year.

I have worked as Assistant Set Dec and Buyer for 10+ years now. This is my first time on the committee and I look forward to serving our guild members by adding on to the wonderful work done by our last committee.

Hi, I’m Clea Dolan. Having grown up with a director/producer dad, I have always had a passion for the film and TV business. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with his production company in various roles. However, my career path has been quite diverse, including stints as an Aer Lingus cabin crew member, hotel receptionist, and even studying for two degrees. But the most rewarding experience has been raising my three kids, two cats, and a dog as a full-time mum.

Recently, I have found my passion in the Set Decoration department. During the Covid lockdown, I took the plunge and pursued it full-time, and I haven’t looked back since. I believe it’s never too late to do what you love, and I’m excited to see where this path will lead me.

I’m very much looking forward to taking on the role of SIPTU rep and being part of this committee. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the Guild and help improve the wonderful world that is the Set Dec department!

Hello Ciara McKenna here, your IGSD Training rep for 2024-25.

I have been working in Film and T.V.  for approximately 20 years both nationally and internationally in various departments including props, sculpture/model making and most recently buying and set decoration.

The IGSD has provided great training courses since its inception and I am excited to continue bringing new skills opportunities and practice to enhance our decorative community.
There’s always something new to learn that can help in any tricky situation.

After 25 years hard labour as a Prop Buyer, I have recently moved to the role of Set Dec Coordinator. Working part time these days means I have a LOT of spare time to spend on Instagram, but still need YOUR input for content, so please send in anything interesting, especially related to your work, (or amusing dog videos).
